Interactive Public Performance
Carron creates interactive public performances that poetry and performance. The work is responsive to a person, a place or a moment in time. The poetry is not a translation of a story – the poems exist as gifts written intuitively for each person who chooses to participate. In conjunction with the people poetry the performances are devised through a process of deep listening. If my body were you was inspired by Brett Kavanaugh’s election to the Supreme Court. This performance was toured in the USA and Central Europe. Current performances include Gie Ben Ilka Gill | To Give In Each Measure that was written in Auld Scots and explores. Eight Acts was written the week of the USA election that Biden won and that was contested by Trump. This performance was developed in Field Chicago workshop and I am so thankful to this creative community who provided feedback and support to develop the work.
