  • Performances & Exhibitions

    Carron creates civic engagement projects for neighborhoods and cities that start with listening and writing poetry. The poetry becomes a starting point for performance. She has an ongoing public performance practice and develops work in response to a particular moment in time.

    Most recently, she created a collaborative performance with Duff Norris (NYC) in Barrowland Park, Glasgow, Scotland called Art to Heart on November 26, 2022. She created an action for Marilyn Arsem on April 14, 2023 called Burying the Hatchett and exhibited an interactive poetry sculpture at Design Museum of Chicago that opened on April 15, 2022 organized by Industry of the Ordinary.

  • Curatorial Projects

    Carron co-founded Out of Site Chicago in 2011. At the start of the pandemic she invited artists in the Out of Site community to create a live stream performance partnering with Experimental Sound Studio. As part of this production she invited one of her grad students and one of the international artists to collaborate. Since May 2020 the community has evolved into an artist collective and are engaged in bi-weekly meetings. These meetings created the idea for Flow, embody • in site, an annual practice-led research symposium on public performance art practice organized by Out of Site artist collective. We are currently organizing Flow 2023 that will be a hybrid format with in-person workshops in Chicago & Rotterdam. To find out about this year’s program please visit the website.

  • Visiting Artist & Publications

    The resume outlines visiting artist in residences, lectures, workshops and publications. Most recently Carron has been giving live stream training for public performance artists and students at Columbia College. In 2019 she facilitated a workshop at Riga Art Academy, Latvia entitled Ecologies of Care that fuses different body movement and vocal practices and in 2021 she was one of eight artists to present her work and Out of Site at a conference in Athens, Greece organized by Theater Entropia and funded by the European Union.

    The resume also includes an extensive list of publications including a contribution to Sharon Louden’s edited book Artist as Cultural Producer and more recent poetry publications including a collaborative work with Erin Gernon combining poetry and composition for harp published in Antelope Press, Volume 2 in April 2022.
